Holidays

The holiday season is coming to a close and I haven’t had the time to make not one post since before Thanksgiving!  I apologize…I had good intentions!

It’s always busy around my house during Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Besides decorating my home, holiday baking, and the big Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for family and friends…I catered a party for 75 guests, started a new business with a friend, worked with several clients for our new business, and worked with a couple of real estate clients.  Not even to mention doing lots of baby sitting for my little granddaughters!

Thanksgiving brought around 25 guests to our home for dinner.  Needless to say there was a lot of cooking going on in my kitchen!  We had 5 little girls under the age of 4, friends, and family.  Tables were set in the dining room, living room, and the sun room.  There was turkey and dressing, ham, and all the sides.  For dessert we had pie…pecan…chocolate fudge, and caramel pumpkin!  It was hectic…chaotic…and fun…just to have everyone together!

I usually decorate my home for Christmas on the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving.  I love Christmas and have many decorations along with a lighted house village that I display in several places in my home.  JR goes into shock and retreats to his room while I turn our house into Christmas wonderland…much to his dismay!

Christmas was a little calmer…my kids all have Christmas at home with their kids and come later in the day for dinner at my house.  We didn’t have as many as usual this year….there were only about 12.  We had a delicious beef tenderloin with twice baked potatoes along with a couple of side dishes.  Our dessert was a Spiced Rum Cake and Peppermint Fudge Brownies.

There was the usual pandemonium…

JR is a Scrooge…

Shelby’s seizure medication makes her very emotional…

Coordinating our holiday dinners to fit everyone’s schedule…

Clipping the dog…cutting JR’s hair…

Decorating the house…

Cleaning up the clutter to suit “Mr. OCD”…remember his obsession is cleaning…

My friend, Jane, and I locking our keys, purses, and phones in Jane’s van while meeting with a new client…

Explaining to JR why he has to come pick Jane and I up at our client’s house because we locked the keys in the van…

Taking JR home so that we can go meet Jane’s husband to get key…

Meeting Jane’s husband at Texas Motor Speedway with no phones and no money in the dark of night to get extra key…

Meeting and working with my new Armenian friend, Kevork, and his lovely wife, Claudia…

Catering Kevork’s birthday and Christmas Open House…

My friend, Bob, who along with his wife, Kim, celebrates Thanksgiving and Christmas with our family, is in the hospital for Thanksgiving…

Bob, likes drama…has a stroke at home…12 days before Christmas…

Bob’s wife, Kim, takes Bob to his doctor…Bob will only agree to going to hospital if he can get out for Christmas dinner at Leah’s…

My mother has to go to emergency room with high blood pressure the day before Christmas Eve…

Kim’s horse is also on medication…we go get horse’s meds in Gainesville while Kim is with Bob in hospital in Ft. Worth…explaining why we must do this to JR…

JR is Scrooge…

Bear in mind these were only the mentionable situations…there was much more…but we survived and another year has passed …

Hope your holidays were merry!

Life with JR

The man of my dreams can fix anything with duct tape and a tie wrap! He's obsessive compulsive with a "triple AAA" personality. When he's not ordering me around or throwing a "hissy fit" he's prone to bouts of vacuuming and mowing. Just click on the photo for a complete list of posts to read about his latest antics!
